RFU lives in the Windows system tray. Its menu can unlock Roblox Player or Studio, choose an FPS cap, change the unlock method, load settings, and open the console.
It is an FPS unlocker, not an FPS booster. If Roblox already runs below your selected cap, the tool cannot create extra performance.

Do I still need Roblox FPS Unlocker?
Usually no. Roblox added a built-in Maximum Frame Rate setting in 2024 with options up to 240 FPS. The original rbxfpsunlocker is now an archived legacy utility.
Is Roblox FPS Unlocker an FPS booster?
No. An FPS unlocker removes a frame-rate cap; it does not make weak hardware render more frames. Lower graphics settings, updated drivers, and fewer background apps are separate performance steps.
How do I see FPS in Roblox?
Join an experience and press Shift + F5. Press the shortcut again to cycle or hide the performance overlay.
Can Roblox run above 240 FPS?
The built-in client setting tops out at 240 FPS. The archived RFU project points advanced users to its final build for experimental Roblox Studio use above 240, with the usual stability caveats.
