Read the numbers

FPS, frame time, and ping are different signals.

“Lag” can mean slow rendering or a slow network. Checking the right number prevents you from using an FPS unlocker for a connection problem.

FPS

Frames per second

How often your PC renders a new frame. Higher can make motion look smoother when the display supports it.

MS

Frame time

The time needed to render one frame. Roughly 16.7 ms equals 60 FPS; 6.9 ms is about 144 FPS.

Network ping

Round-trip network delay. An FPS unlocker does not reduce ping or fix a distant Roblox server.
